(Opens at the China Clay Pits at night) Bill (Speaks eerily): And to this day, the ghost train still rattles around our yard. Waiting to find an unsuspecting tank engine and take its place, because clearly if he couldn’t work here, no one would (Ghost wails). Ben: Oh don’t you start with that nonsense Bill. It’s not funny, and anyone would think you were doing this out of spite! Narrator: Ben scolded one night. Bill enjoyed telling horror stories whenever he got the chance, and he thought it funny with how much it scared the other engines, including his own brother, Ben. Bill (Snickers): You know what your problem is Ben? Ben: What? Bill: You’re just a puss that’s frightened of everything, like anyone would think you were a hypochondriac. Ben: Hey, that’s not true you dolt, those are the kind of idiots that get frightened over health, like that Sulky Spamcan that got sold off to Mexico last year. Narrator: James worked very hard on Edward’s Branchline whilst BoCo was away. He was improving greatly after the incident new trucks and Edward, as he started to understand whilst things may not be simple as they look now, he was more than willing to learn how be great at running a branchline and looking after trucks, not out of vanity this time, but because he genuinely wanted to. These are the routes that can go into different towns or industries the busy Main Line couldn’t stop at. But even so, Branchlines still play a vital role in railway operations, as passengers who don’t live near the stations on the Main Line can catch their trains from guaranteed connections, and goods traffic from these different companies are brought to the junction stations so they can be added onto
